The internationally acclaimed Amatis Trio will tour China from April 24 to May 4, 2026, performing in multiple cities (venues to be announced). Renowned for their extraordinary energy, artistic freedom, and distinctive sound, Amatis Trio continues to redefine the classical piano trio experience.

Founded in 2014 in Salzburg, the ensemble quickly established itself at the forefront of the international chamber music scene. Early recognition as BBC Radio 3 New Generation Artists in 2016 and ECHO Rising Stars in 2018 was followed by prestigious awards, including the Dutch Kersjesprijs and the Borletti-Buitoni Trust Award. The trio has been praised by the Wigmore Hall as proof that “the best things come in threes,” and by The Strad as “truly breathtaking… with a meticulous ear for colours and nuances, bringing the music’s inventions into sharp focus.”

Amatis Trio—comprising Lea Hausmann (violin), Samuel Shepherd (cello), and Mengjie Han (piano)—is passionate about connecting tradition with the present and music with other art forms. Their concerts invite audiences into immersive journeys where familiar works take on new meaning. Dedicated to contemporary music, the trio has commissioned fifteen new works, including Andrea Tarrodi’s triple concerto Moorlands and Beyond, premiered in Edinburgh in 2024.

The ensemble has performed at major international festivals, including the BBC Proms, Verbier Festival, Salzburg Mozartwoche, and Edinburgh International Festival, and regularly appears at renowned venues such as London’s Wigmore Hall, Concertgebouw Amsterdam, and Hamburg Elbphilharmonie. With extensive touring to over 48 countries, the trio brings a wealth of experience and international acclaim to audiences in China.
