In the summer of 2026, Berlin-based a cappella quartet German Gents will make its debut tour in China under the evocative banner “Dream a Little Dream”. This marks the first time this internationally acclaimed male vocal ensemble will bring their unique sound—their blend of classical technique, modern repertoire, and theatrical vocal charm—to Chinese audiences.
Founded in 2018 by four former members of the Berlin State and Cathedral Choir, German Gents quickly established themselves as one of Europe’s most promising young a cappella groups. In May 2019 they won the top prize at the prestigious International A Cappella Contest Leipzig — taking First Prize, the Audience Award, and two special prizes.
What defines German Gents is their versatility: though rooted in classical male-voice choral tradition, they are equally at ease performing German Romantic songs, folk tunes, American 1950s–60s pop and rock classics, barbershop, and contemporary pop arrangements — all delivered without instruments, relying solely on the power and blend of their voices.
Their dynamic stage presence, vibrant tone colours, and seamless harmonies have earned them growing acclaim on the European festival and concert circuit: invitations to the Rheingau Musikfestival, Festspiele Mecklenburg-Vorpommern, Konzerthaus Berlin, Gewandhaus Leipzig and more.
For their 2026 China debut, German Gents promise a programme that spans tradition and modernity. Audiences should expect a mix: rich German-language choral repertoire and sacred or secular songs; smooth jazz and pop classics; and even a selection of Chinese or Mandarin-language songs. This cross-cultural twist reflects the group’s ambition to bridge East and West, old and new, classicism and popular appeal.
