Orchestra and choir director, initially carried out his activity on the national territory leading various choral formations, guest of concert societies and national reviews, deepening both the classical and romantic symphonic-choral repertoire, and the polyphonic. In 1992 he founded the association I Polifonici di Genova (within which he formed the well-known homonymous children's choir) with which he has repeatedly recorded for the Philarmonia and Bongiovanni record companies.
After studying Composition, Organ and Piano at the Paganini Conservatory in Genoa, he obtained a diploma in Choral Conducting at the Cherubini Conservatory in Florence and in Orchestra Conducting at the Verdi Conservatory in Milan, later perfecting himself at the school of Julius Kalmar, professor of orchestra conducting at the Vienna Academy.
He has performed at the helm of various orchestras in Italy, the United States and in recent years in China, guest of numerous national theaters and prestigious concert halls.
He has been a professor at the conservatories of Florence, L'Aquila, Mantua and Trento; winner of a national competition, for over 15 years he has held the chair of Choral Conducting at the Niccolò Paganini Conservatory of Music in Genoa, where he has also been teaching courses pertaining to the Electronic Music school for years. Since 2014 he has been collaborating with educational institutions in China: he was Visiting Professor of Choral Conducting and Opera Coach at the Shanghai Conservatory of Music, and Distiguished Professor of Conducting at the China Conservatory of Music in Beijing.
